Just came back from the dentist... another filling. Every time I ask to see the x-ray and usually I can't make out what my denstist is seeing. Sure, he's got a trained eye for this, but you'd think after he describes it I should be able to see the problem right. I look darn hard too. Sometimes I think he just loves drilling people and there's possibly profit to be made by each filling. Please just tell me I'm paranoid... and still a bit numb, uncomfortable numb.

Quick updates, finished another semester, holy shit I almost died during finals week. Got the studio "intern" position at a decent studio. More on that later, a lot more!!
Moved out all my stuff and have a new apt lined up in Brighton. Should be a cool deal.
And yes, that's right I'm back in CA for two weeks starting... NOW. Already here! If anyone has some free time look me up. I know it's tough with families, babies, short notice etc. I'm sure we'll be in touch. |

You heard it right, in our best game of the season by far, team Blue Steel FCC defeated undefeated Texas Orange in a nail bitting 3-3 (4-2 overtime penalty shootout) soccer FINAL on Sunday!!! And guess who finally scored a goal in the biggest match of the season?! That's f&)*ing right... the ole' GUITARSTARHERO put's one in the back of the net!! What an intense game. We always scored the leading goal but Orange kept matching our goals and with 5 minutes to go they tied it up 3 all, can you believe it. My goal put us ahead 2-1 and I'll be honest it was an "interesting" goal, but an excellent effort.
I was a forward and I made the extra effort to challenge the defender who had control of the ball just outside the penalty box. I blocked his pass which roll backed towards the endline and i tried to center it JUST before it went out. Well my center went right across the goal, past the goal keeper and i put so much spin on the ball when it bounced it curved into far side of the net!! Funny too, right after i kicked it i knew it was going in, even before it bounced. I'll take it thank you very much!
In penalty kicks, their girls missed both their shots and our girls made ours, thank you Jasmine and Lynsi!! And now the whole team has matching black championship hoodies aimed at intimidating next season's teams during warm up. Oh yeah, and they nicely cover up our hot-pick uniforms.
Alright, back to the real world and my 4 more finals (three on Wed) and two more projects till I explode.

You hear it right, the soccer team I play on every Sunday just won it's semi final match and has made it to the BSSC (Boston Ski and Sports Club) Final Game next Sunday!! I think our record is 9-1-1 and we're in second place behind a strong Texas Orange team. And yep, they made it to the finals so we'll be seeing them come Sunday. Yeah, today, I didn't play so hot and still no goal yet in the outdoor league. But I did get the game winning assist in the quarterfinals and another very close game. It started out as just a way to have some fun and get some exercise but i must say a competitive edge has been coming to light in my being as we near the last game. I still play clean though and never foul anyone.
But I'm thinking about bustin' out the testosterone patch come the weekend...

Had a Grande Iced Mocha from the ole' Starbucks at 9:30pm tonight... Should not have done that. This non-coffee drinker might be up till 4am. And I swore that last Frapp last week would be THE last trip down there, and lastly... who knew those places were everywhere?! Mistakes kill us! ;) |

The team and I played back to back soccer matches today. Let me tell you, 140 minutes of runnin' your arse off burns a lot of calories. Overall, I played pretty well, and may be a shoe-in for most improved. Let's face it, I'm not the best player by a long shot but I'm not the worst and I'm noticing a lot of improvment in my game. I'm VERY sore, bruised, blistered, and beaten after those 2+ hours of running and kicking. Got fouled once and went down hard (no dive, I promise you!). But... it's a VERY GREAT worn out feeling, like I just ran the Boston Marathon or something. I actually feel 2.67 years younger, give or take. Looks like we're in the playoff (yes the team rocks!) and have a good chance of winnin' the whole thing. Can't wait till next week and more April showers in June.

Six midterms and two projects down, only one middy and one project left, sweet tits! This shortened summer semester is flyin' by, but on a good note I'm *just* hanging in there. On an inexplicable note, I *was* falling behind till this past week. I was called a slacker in front of the class by my jazz guitar teacher, even though he was impressed by my jazz arrangment of "Danny Boy". It just turns out I couldn't play it very well. ;) I guess he's right... we had 3 weeks to arrange, record, and practice it. I started with less than a week left, so I'm just pleased I got 2/3's of that equation done. It must just be the short term cuz I'm still pushing myself, although not as hard as before, hmmm... eureka! Next we'll evaluate the whole MP&E major, this time from the *inside* view... And I'm too lazy to use italics so *these* will have to do.

Many know that I'm a soccer fanatic and half German, so it comes as know surprise to find I missed all my classes today (including a quiz!!) to watch the Germany vs Argentina Quarter Final of the 2006 World Cup!! Hey, it's summer... The feeling of joy was so overwhelming when Germany won in overtime penalty kicks after TWO hours of play. I play competitive (coed ;-)) soccer once or twice a week, and let me tell you, that's a long time!!
In all honesty, I think Argentina played a better game and it's so weird how that doesn't matter at all. The huge mistake they made was playing back after they took a 1-0 lead. Germany fought hard and got the goal super late in the 2nd half... Amazing. The Semi is next, go team!

For those interested, I posted some of my songs on my myspace band page. Most of them are songs I turned in as projects, two are original (guess which ;-)). If you have the time, PLEASE let me know what you think. There are things/parts I love and dislove about the songs but it's always great to get an outside opinion from someone who's listening for the first time. So please let me know both what you like and dislike. NOTE: PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE SONGS, THE MYSPACE PLAYER KILLS THE SOUND AND QUALITY!!!!! DON'T KNOW WHY PROBABLY BANDWIDTH RELATED For all the getarists, check out the 3rd solo on "Favela" and the 2nd verse on "Be My Baby". Not too shabby.

After a long and tiresome battle, Pistol Pete aka guitarstarhero, is in the MP&E major! As if there was any doubt. ;-) And to boot, I made the Dean's List second time in a row, have the paperwork to prove it :-p. Funny since I really thought I botched things up last semester. My GPA didn't go down at all. I wouldn't say I'm a nerd, just a workaholic. But now I'm in, bring on the beer and plethora of B minuses, yeah!

More MP&E "mis-communication" blues. I applied for the Summer Semester (starts today) and still have received no word on my application. So again I ventured down to the ole' MP&E office only to find out they had me down for next fall semester in the computer. And what do you know, when they dug up my application, the word summer was literally only penciled over the word Fall in my application. Someone never transferred that over, nice. Funny though, I've had so many problems (as you've all read) with this department I didn't even flinch. I actually expected this to happen. Well, they're looking into it as we speak... |

Hey all friends and relatives! I recently added myspace to my arsenal of procrastination devices. Please anyone add away at your discretion. I'm still working out all the kinks (read background) but it's getting good. Do you have any suggestions for URL names? Guitarstarhero is nice but may be too easily identifiable... Soon I'll have my songs posted as well as I'm now creating a band site. The only question is, should I use my old band name or a new one? Gopackgo, chime in anytime... http://www.myspace.com/24257568

I saw this band Dear Leader last week at this huge Boston music fest (they closed down Lansdowe at Fenway Park) and they friggin' rocked. In fact, I was going to see Nada Surf and they opened for them. The guy gives it his ALL, that kind of power and honesty are what I appear to gravitate towards in music. They're self proclaimed "Politically and Socially Charged Anthem Rock" (can't you tell from the name) and the front man was in the band Shelia Devine. I can't say I fully understand the political implications of their lyrics but I know a couple of LJ user who might... check them out. http://www.dear-leader.com/http://www.myspace.com/dearleader

Now that school's out, been doing a lot of research on setting my biz, the recording stuido biz, so far just by asking around. I've gotten mostly negative responses from "seasoned" locals along the lines of "it's way too tough, you'll be broke, there are too many studios in Boston, tell everyone about my studio", etc. I do agree some what but, part of me wonders if they don't want the extra competition. If somone is only touting negatives, why the heck are they doing it? People outside Boston are more positive saying it's do-able, at the same time, the whole money issues seems to crop up, haha. According to mutatormethod's post a while back I should have stuck to Chem E. for the $$ (READ BLING BLING). I've been thinking about doing an internship at a local studio (unpaid of course) to get more experience, and see what I'm really getting into. So far I've only recorded people I like and know. Stay tuned...
